The Day the Earth Stood Still: high concept sci-fi movie
No attempt at a proper movie review, but I'd advise folks who at least tolerate science fiction to go see The Day the Earth Stood Still. Some of the criticism of it is misplaced, I think. It's high concept, and takes the original only as a starting point. I commented to my companion afterwards, "this is the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind should have been."
